Today was a very happy Thursday! I got to sleep in untill 7 - this never happens! I had lunch with Ryan - this also doesn't happen often:) I came home to a clean house & laundry - this is amazing! I got to have dinner with Ryan - before 10:00:) We went out for ice cream and found the yummiest ice cream place ever - this doesn't really need any explanation! Tomorrow is Friday - today was so great, I can only imagine that Friday will be FANTASTIC:)

Wheww, I can not believe that it is already Thursday! My first week at the new job is almost complete and I must say that I feel pretty good about it:) You know how starting over at a new job is, usually awkward. You know what I mean, you have to ask where the restroom is and where they keep their post it notes!! The first day I was a ball of nerves, but I really had nothing to worry about. My new boss is good at explaining everything and showing me where everything is, even before I ask:) Everyone has been really nice & super helpful. I am pretty excited about what the future holds for me here!! Don't think for a second that I do not miss my old staff, because I do - A LOT!!! They are the best group of teachers I have ever had the pleasure to work with. I know that things with my new staff will be different and that they will never throw fantastic dance parties like my last staff, but I am excited about all of the great things we can do together:)
with Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman! She is fantastic! I just discovered her blog yesterday and I have already made two recipes that I found there! They were easy & best of all they are YUMMY:) She has several other areas of her blog to explore, but I only went through the recipes today. I will be back in hope of getting to know Ree a little better:)
I love Friday! A good Friday holds a lot of promise. It is the kick off to the weekend and to all things fun:) As a kid it was the day that we would have pizza for dinner and then I would go grocery shopping with my mom. As a teenager it was football or basketball games & friends. As a young adult I discovered happy hour, enough said;) Now I love Fridays because it's the start of time at home and it leads me to Saturday date nights with my husband. So go out there and enjoy your Friday!!
1. I finally have my scrap room just right! I just need to hang some photos and it will be perfect:) 2. There are still unopened boxes in the garage and I have no idea what could be inside of them, everything we use daily is already unpacked! 3. I have 3 cups of coffee every morning made with sugar free vanilla & skim milk. 4. Since being home during the day, I have discovered that day time television is a total time suck! Really, 3 hours of the today show....and the ladies of the View are crazy too! 5. I miss my kiddos at the Y. 6. I am loving all things for Spring! I can't wait to wear capri's:) 7. I am planting flowers this year. We finally have an area to actually plant something and I am so excited about it! 8. I love that I have time to plan meals & the time to actually make them:) I forget that I LOVE to cook!! 9. I can't wait for the baseball season to start. Go Cubs! 10. I have been taking pictures of everything lately....now I just have to find my camera cord so that I can upload them:)
How I love you! This is my second Saturday in our new home; last Saturday was spent trying to hang curtains, unpacking, and finally grocery shopping. This Satruday is the complete opposite, oh sure there are still boxes to be unpacked & clothes to be hung in the closet, but I am spending the day in my new scraproom:) I finally have everything put away and am ready to play!! My scrap stuff has been packed away for more than a month and I have missed it all so much!! Scrapbooking is such a great stress buster for me and boy do I need some stress relief with all of the changes that have been happening!! So happy scrappy Saturday:D

We are now officially Hawkeyes. I should say that I am officially a Hawkeye. Having grown up in the lovely state of Illinois, I have always been anti Iowa. Then I moved to Waterloo six years ago and started to get swept up into the college sports frenzy(mostly football & basketball) here in Iowa. For the first time ever I found myself watching college basketball on television & I watched with the rest of the country as the UNI Panthers made history last year. Then I started watching college football on Saturday afternoons & became a crazy yelling fan as the Hawkeyes played one of their best seasons ever(nobody wants to talk about this years team!). So now I find myself in a city that LOVES the Iowa Hawkeyes. Almost everywhere you go here you see the above image or better yet you see Herky dressed in some sort of costume! I think that I will soon be one of those people who has a Hawkeye flag to fly on game days and will be hosting friends at a tailgate style party on my deck! Because whether I like it or not, we are now offically Hawkeyes:)
I know that I have posted this before, but it is actually really true! When was my last blog post???? May 2010!!! That is right, May 2010. I am surprised that Blogger has not taken away my blogging rights! Well, I am back. I am not promising to be a great blogger, but I will try harder:) I could try to fill you in on what has been going on with me since May, but I find it would be easier to tell you the biggest & newest news - we have moved!! We are now residents of Iowa City, IA. Ryan is opening a new store in the area:) Currently I am setting up our home and looking for a job. As many of my good friends know, I am not a huge fan of change. Oh, I can change my hair color or purses, but not the every day. I miss everything about my days before the move. I miss work, especially all of my kids, Eric at Starbucks, our Target(this could be a blog post on its own), and quite honestly just our routine. I am trying very hard to be happy and okay with this move, but some days it is tough. It has helped that I have a very dear friend close by and that my husband has been SUPER AWESOME:) Well, I am off to unpack something.....we are still looking for the dvd remote!
